Review – Intercontinental Pawcation

My daddy treated my mommy and i to a pawcation at Intercontinental on her birthday. I’m lucky i got to go. Cos my mommy loves me and will bring me everywhere if she can. This is my review of my 2 day and 1 night pawcation!

Hotel Service: Top notch and very friendly. The nice porter uncle remembered my name. All the staff in the hotel i like. One time, they forgot one dish for my dinner, they wrote an apology card to my daddy and gave me an extra bag of treatos. They even let us check in early at 9 am instead of 3 pm. But also thanks to my kiasu daddy who keep calling the concierge the night before and early in the morning. Lucky i’m chill and zen, don’t have my daddy’s DNA.

Parking: Hotel has no complimentary car parking as the Bugis car park does not belong to them. If lucky, come early and can park right in front of the hotel. It is much cheaper at $20 for the full duration of the stay. My daddy face black black when he pre-estimated the cost of the main Bugis car park.

Room: They call it a Heritage Suite. It is actually at an outdoor annexe of the hotel. Very rustic and peranakan. Heard they dedicate this particular suite for fur kids like me. This hotel no weight limit for fur kids, unlike others that only allow tiny tots that are less than 15 KG. Me is big boy. The room very clean and well maintained. Has a separate living room and large toilet. The sofas very comfortable. Maybe my daddy will have to sleep there since i get to sleep on the even more comfy bed with my mummy. The toilet has both bath and large standing shower with rain shower. I think i can even bathe there. The room can be accessed by the “long” way through the interior of the hotel and elevator. There is a back door right near the suite that leads to the main lobby and executive lounge through a stairway.

Room Window: The room window overlooks the Bugis Junction. I like looking at the people from above. I bark and bark until my parents very worried we get ejected out of the hotel. But i got bored eventually so i stopped barking. My mommy also massaged me and rubbed my ears to calm me down. Peace…… Biscuit, my bro, come and bark together with me next time.

Dog Amenities and Service: They give nice hamper of treatos, toys, shampoo and shower gel, bottles of mineral water and even a dog bed for me. The dog bed cannot bring home. Oh well. There is also a $50 credit to order room service for me. The food is nice but not as good as the one my mummy cooks. Got salmon, beef, broccoli and carrots. And the hotel staff very polite. When my daddy order for me, i overheard them address him as Mr Koh. Atas batas ah.

Service for Pawrents: Room has Executive Lounge access. My daddy very happy. Keep going there for ice kopi and brings back one Ginger Ale for mummy. Always end up drinking the soft drink himself. Also, i only found out later. After i fell asleep, they secretly went there for afternoon tea. For breakfast, mummy opted them to serve it in our room though the hotel said the spread and selection not as sumptuous as in the restaurant. My daddy still happily ate everything and even ate some of my mummy’s share.

Pee Pee and Poo Poo: I do not use pee pad and dun want to use. Outside our room, there is an elevated small garden but i think only small dogs can access. If everytime nature calls, my daddy has to carry me up to use, he sure kena back pain. My daddy has to bring me outside the hotel where there are only a few small grass patches. This is the part i don’t like. I have to smell very hard to get the feeling ah.

Pet Friendly Cafes: The hotel itself has no pet friendly cafes. Right outside the hotel, there is a Baker and Cook cafe. We went there for lunch but we have to sit outdoors. My daddy complain why no air-con again.

Walks and Dine: We walked to Waterloo Street to buy CNY decorations. An uncle there said i am very handsome. We also walked to Arab Street. That night, my pawparents walked a total of 7 km with me (to and fro) from the hotel past the Padang to Robertson Quay. May people like me there. I keep shaking my bum bum. Robertson Quay has many nice restaurants that allow fur babies. We chose an Izakaya Japanese restaurant. My mummy said very delicious and my daddy look pleased (must be from eating too much fish roe).

Even though we had super early check-in. They gave us late check-out the next day. So nice. I really want to come back again. But my daddy said “only on special occasions.” Lucky he didn’t say “once in a lifetime!”
